We treat a variety of autoimmune issues. Here are some of the most common types we see in our clinic:

Low Immunity

The immune system’s main work is to protect the body from infections and the development of cancers. When your immune system is healthy, your body has the inner resources to restore balance. When your immune function is weak, you are prone to recurrent or everlasting colds and flus, chronic infections, and the development of cancers.

Your immune system responds to your level of stress and how you manage it, your diet, nutrient absorption, your lifestyle, exercise and overall activity levels.

Having a properly functioning immune system reduces the incidence of many conditions, symptoms and
diseases.

Supplements are also important in supporting your immune system.

Allergies

Allergies are conditions caused by a hypersensitivity of the immune system to something in the environment, like pollen, dust mites, pets fur, insect bites, moulds, foods and medications. Allergies can be caused by a genetic predisposition, but this is not always the case. Symptoms can include runny nose, sneezing or coughing, itchy, red or watery eyes, chest tightness, asthma, swollen lips, tongue, face or eyes, stomach pain, diarrhea or vomiting, skin rashes, and anaphylaxis (a severe, life threatening reaction).

The following treatments can help or prevent allergies:

Arthritis

Arthritis is inflammation in one or more of the joints. It is usually experienced as pain and stiffness, and often worsens with age if not addressed. The most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Osteoarthritis involves wear and tear on the cartilage, the coating at the junction of bones that lets them slide smoothly against each other. When enough cartilage is lost the bones start to grind against each other, creating pain in the joint. This can happen over time or as a result of injury or infection.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder. The immune system attacks the lining of the joint capsule, and it becomes inflamed and swollen. As the disease develops, it can also destroy the cartilage and the bone.
